Who: Yuuri Katsuki
What: A Bingo Prompt!
When: Day Five, early morning
Where: Around the compound
Warnings: Hints of anxiety and loneliness
It felt a little strange to be competing like this again. When Yuuri had first stepped through the door that had brought him here, he hadn't quite understood everything that was going to happen. As much as he missed Viktor, this place changed him. Maybe for the better. He missed his family, as well. He knew the onsen was doing just fine back home, even without him. Mari probably accused Viktor of doing something shady to him, if they were even actually gone. He didn't know exactly how that all worked, and sometimes it was better to not think about it.
As much as he would have loved to have Makkachin here, Yuuri knew in his heart that the poodle belonged to Viktor. She had been his long before Yuuri even had. It would have been unfair of him to take the dog, despite his own wishes. So when the chance had come to adopt a pet, well, Yuuri was glad. Abigail was already a good friend, someone who he felt that he could be himself around, no matter what else might come at them. He had joined the Survivor challenge to protect her, and maybe that's what kept motivating him every week to do well.
The early morning sunrise was Yuuri's time of the day. He may like to stay up late, but Yuuri also liked early morning runs. Now that he was competing like this, well, that wasn't any different. With a leash in his hand, he was running with his new poodle, Coco. The puppy was energetic and friendly enough; with some gentle coaching, Yuuri thought he would easily be able to train her well. His only concern was what might happen if they get pulled into another place; he couldn't think about that, not now. They had Coco for now, at the very least, and he wasn't lonely.
Walking on the outskirts of the compound, running at times, Yuuri was easily lost in thought. He was doing well with Survivor, better than he had predicted. He thought he would have been the first one to lose, the one to cost everything for their team, despite having motivation to win. Maybe the best thing he could do was to support everyone else competing. Wasn't that what Viktor always suggested?
He gripped the leash a little bit tighter as he kept walking the poodle, grinning as she stopped to explore their surroundings. Truth be told, Yuuri was very glad to have her, just like he was glad Abigail was his friend here. He wasn't alone and neither was she; besides, they had an adorable poodle to keep them company. If nothing else, poodles he understood and poodles he knew well.
