Leia was twenty-three when she learned about it for the first time, too. Did you know that? Can you imagine how that might have been for her? Learning that the person who tortured her for answers about the Rebellion, who killed her parents and destroyed her planet was her father? Did you think of that at all when you, her son, decided to take everything else she'd worked for away from her?
Things weren't harder for Luke or your mother because of who their father was. They made their own choices and their own decisions and took responsibility for the consequences -- We were never afraid of you -- if anything, we were afraid for you. And no one gave up on you.
I'm only going to say this one time: if you have questions about what happened or why I made the decisions I made you can ask them, but don't you damn well decide my motives for me. You don't know what you're talking about and it's time to stop acting like you do.
