Blue Sargent was a very capable woman. She was glad that Gansey recognized that, and she kept repeating that mantra—I am a very capable woman—all the way to the spa where her very ridiculous, naive, mostly-competent boyfriend-slash-didn't-know-he-was-her-b Besides, she couldn't go out into the storm (even if she tried) because there was a very real chance that she would be swept away. Blue might have been capable, and if she tooted her own horn, she was brave, but she was no physical match for a hurricane. Or a volcano, whenever that disaster wanted to show its stupid volcanic face. At some point after checking on Declan and Opal, per Ronan's noble request, and fashioning a shoulder strap for the first aid kit so that she would always have it on her, she marched her tiny self to the spa. The winds were howling, the rain made it impossible to see out of any window, and the walls did a very terrifying shimmy every time the gusts got to be too much. Blue always thought hotels were built to withstand anything—it just made fiscal sense to... oh god, she used the word fiscal—but clearly not in this room roulette they were playing. Blue was nearly running by the time she made it to the spa; they were running out of time. "Gansey!" Blue hollered down the hallway. There were one-too-many doors here, and she didn't have time to check every one. "Richard Campbell Gansey the Third, I swear I will throw you out into the storm if you don't answer me right now!" Did she sound worried? Okay, maybe she sounded a little worried. |
