Looking for and seeking out alcohol seemed to Manfred like a perfectly reasonable and logical reaction to having been plucked out of Midnight and dropped into a creepy haunted mansion that he just knew was full of ghosts, but due to the apparent power sucking fun of the house itself he couldn't see them.
Maybe he could have been doing something productive like bonding or working with other people but before Midnight that wasn't his deal and given that none of these people were Midnighters he was just going to do him, worry about team work and other bonding stuff later, whenever it became a necessity.
The kitchen had been a bust and honestly he'd taken one look at the amount of people huddled in there like over familiar friends and family and immediately turned around and left. Nope, not happening. Eventually his wandering took him into what looked like a Billiard room complete with pool table and suitably creepy and not at all off putting portrait on the nearby wall.
Manfred trailed in, dragging his fingers over the edge of the pool table, grip slipping over to lightly bounce a ball off one of the corners until it disappeared down one of the holes. Man, what he wouldn't give for some alcohol and cigarettes, not necessarily in that order.
Hell, he'd even take a couple sedatives right about now.
