DAY 1 - BEDROOM HUNTING
HERMIONE GRANGER ✦ TONKS ✦ TIR MCDOHL
Hunting for a bedroom Low Complete |
Hermione was glad Tonks was here. It was nice to have a familiar face. Tir seemed nice too and she was looking forward to getting to know him better. He reminded her of Harry somewhat which was making her nostalgic. There was an obvious hero complex about him. Hermione had decided to start with it was perhaps best to head upstairs to the sleeping areas just so they could claim something decent before they were all gone. Pushing one of the doors open she looked inside and shook her head. “Ugh taxidermy. Let’s find another room. I refuse to sleep in a room like that.” -- For the large part of their search, Tir had remained fairly silent, offering up a few comments here and there but he was taking everything in. The girls seemed to know each other, as did a few other people here, but Tir hadn’t seen or heard from anyone he knew. It was a little worrying, but he tried not to dwell on it and explore his new surroundings. The taxidermy room was awful, as were the next few rooms after it. Tir was growing more concerned about their options when finally they happened upon a very plain, very boring room. “...I don’t think we’ll find anything better than this,” he commented with a frown. -- Tonks almost felt like she was having the weirdest fever dream, but it was happening and she'd decided to just… accept. And at least she had a familiar face in Hermione. Tir seemed like a good kid, if a bit quiet. Clearly that needed to be worked on, but that was a problem for later. Looking at the first plain, boring room they'd found, Tonks shrugged. "No dead animals… creepy dolls… this seems like a winner." -- Hermione sighed in relief as they stumbled upon the latest room. It looked… Fine? “It looks good to me. I mean after the past few rooms I half suspect to come across something unexpected but it looks the best. Want to explore the room and make sure it is actually safe and we won’t fall through the floor or anything during the night?” she suggested, stepping carefully into the room. ---- Tir nodded in response, even though Hermione had already moved past him. He followed her inside to check every last corner. The monsters he was used to often made themselves known fairly quickly and they were never small enough to hide in the nooks and crannies of this room, so as he continued to look he found himself growing more comfortable, but still found a nagging discomfort in the back of his mind. “It seems fine,” he said, straightening up from checking underneath the bed. -- There were spells to check for dangers, and being an Auror Tonks knew them. But since magic was turned off like a switch, she just poked in the corners instead, giving any possible dust bunnies a fright. She was the adult, so she felt she should maybe protect the "kids", but whatever. It seemed like a harmless room, unlike some of the others. "No boggarts that I can see," she admitted. "Or anything weird." -- Hermione was surprised that there was nothing. Wasn’t there always something? It was disconcerting. None of them had found anything though. “So I guess this is ours then. I didn’t find anything odd yet. Tir, are you okay with a couch? I don’t think three of us would fit in the bed unless of course you want to find somewhere else to stay?” she offers the young man. ----- “I can sleep on the couch,” he said, straightening up. He’d slept in worse places. In fact, the couch actually looked comfortable compared to some of the places he’d slept during the war. He glanced around the seemingly normal room warily. “What now?” -- Sitting on the bed, giving it a test bounce, she said, "Good, I'm too elderly to sleep on couches," with a wink. She was a whole 25 years old, which is ancient. "I guess… investigate? Not die?" she offered. -- Hermione snorted at Tonks’s comment. “Thanks Tir,” she said giving him a smile. “I guess so. So start on this floor and go from there?” she suggested. -- “I guess so,” Tir shrugged. “This place is pretty big. There’s probably a lot of ground to cover, so we should get started.” -- Half of her really just wanted to lay down forever, but the other half was raring to get up and do something, anything. "Let's go, then," she said jumping up from the bed. |
