While Ignis had grown accustomed to his lack of sight over the past several years, nothing could have prepared him for being thrust into a completely new environment without warning. Everything was wrong--the smells, the sounds, and the feel of the ground under his shoes. Ignis had never been here before. What made things more unsettling was how much light he could sense around him. This was unfamiliar territory, but he was attempting to gather clues that could help him ascertain where in the world he was. There were more people here than he'd heard in years, bustling around and talking, but no daemons. The conversations around him were concerning for one reason or another. There were words and phrases he simply couldn't place and didn't recognize. While Ignis wasn't all knowing, there was definitely something amiss. His only option for the time being, however, was to explore the large house and become as familiar with his surroundings as possible. Without daemons to fight, it was an easier task than he'd anticipated. He had done well enough over the years without any assistance, he could do it again. However, hearing Gladio before he said anything Ignis had already turned around by the time he spoke. There was something hesitant in his tone, as if Gladio were almost unsure it was him, but Ignis would recognize his footfall and voice anywhere. "Gladio," he said, unable to stop the relief from entering his tone. If he were going to be somewhere as unfamiliar as this, he did appreciate at least one small bit of familiarity, despite the distance that had grown between them over the years. |
