Madison sat on the bed, looking down. 'I rather not. I'm trying to figure out where everthing's going. I don't think Sam's coming back, Barbara. He's been gone for almost two weeks now, doesn't that say something?' she asked, eyes bright with tears. It made her wonder if she had done something wrong in her life or in her relationship with Sam to have earned her this departure.
Had she been too clingy or needy? Had she been just not right and Sam liked her for the sex? Or had the baby ruined everything for them? It was a million and one questions that raced through her brain, breaking her heart as she sat there. For a week she gave him his work, but now that it was edging on two weeks without a word from him, it just hurt too much. She didn't think he cared anymore.
