"There is, once I'm safe. He would not want his sacrifice to be for nothing." There were two other guards back at the house he had rented -- as that was far easier to maintain security at than a hotel, even if it meant Atreus had to sacrifice some luxuries -- though he wasn't sure the body would still be here once he had time to contact them. As undesirable as it was, at least if human authorities happened upon the body it could be retrieved. If vampires or ravenous beasts got to it first, there might be nothing. It was a gamble Atreus had to take. One of many, it seemed, this night.
The fae made a face at the mention of a hospital. "And let the humans run tests on me? I think not." He would rather the vampires take him than to let the humans get their hands on his blood. Not to mention the reactions back in Faerie. He would not be greeted with open arms by his parents, Atreus knew that much. And his sister would probably slap him for scaring her again. "The blood makes it seem worse than it is. I can make it."
Belatedly he realized the man had given him a name and the fae made himself focus. "My name is Atreus." Titles were unnecessary at the moment. "Any aid you are willing to offer is appreciated. I promise, I'm in no danger of dying on you."
