estación, noun
station
Estación, like its English cousin, can be used to describe many different kinds of station:
Spanish: la estación central
English: the main station
Spanish: una estación ferroviaria
English: a railroad station
Spanish: una estación de servicio
English: a gas station, a service station
But it's not just the obvious stations that estación covers. For instance:
Spanish: Están cambiando mi estación de trabajo por otra mejor.
English: My work station is being changed for a better one.
Spanish: una estación espacial
English: a space station
Spanish: una estación de radio
English: a radio station
And remember that there's another meaning of estación referring to places!
Spanish: una estación balnearia
English: a seaside resort
Spanish: una estación de esquí
English: a ski resort
