Savannah took several shuddering breaths to calm herself. She couldn't let him know. She couldn't take that damn bloody pain again.
She didn't speak until she was sure she could without her voice tipping him off. Savannah couldn't lie. it just wasn't in her. But there was no way she could tell him the truth as to why tears had fallen from her eyes.
"I'm not hurt." she said softly, but evenly, which was a point for her. But she wasn't relaxed as she usually was after they made....after they had sex. She would not even think the word. Her whole body was tense but she made no move to pull away from him. she knew she would cry outright then if she lost the fell of his touch before she could bury everything.
She finally pulled back enough to see his face and smiled a little. But her eyes were....off. There were shadows in them that hadn't been there before. Everyone had their shadows. But it seemed so out of place in her soft round face. There should never be shadows in her hazel eyes.
