[Mm. This place again. Naoya wasn't fond of it, but he couldn't help it. He draped himself over a pillow and chewed an apricot lazily.]

[Perhaps he could sleep here, at the very least...]

[Rei still has no memories of this place, but something about it tugs at her senses. The flowers. The fruit. It fills her with a sense of anticipation she can't explain.

But there are more important matters at hand: her body doesn't feel right. She is looking at the garden from too high an angle - taller, perhaps? Her hair feels longer under her hand when she touches it, coarse and spiky. When she looks down, she cannot see her breasts.

And everything between her legs is just wrong.

She (he?) walks further into the garden, surprised to see someone else lying there - Naoya. Slowly, she approaches him, wondering if she looks different as well. Perhaps he can tell her.]

Naoya-san. [Her voice is different as well, still high for a boy but much deeper than her own. It has a lilting, playful quality to it.]

[Something about him seems familiar. He looks up, and concentrates.]

... Rei?

Something about me has changed. [She touches her hair self-consciously.] How do I look? [She means a detailed description, not whether or not being a boy suits her.]

Your hair is... longer and it appears to be coarser... and you seem taller as well. Other than that... not terribly different.

Sit.

I also appear to be male. [She's dressed in simple short-sleeved white button-down and black pants. She runs a hand down her chest, getting used to the strangeness of it all. What is this place, and why has this happened? And why is Naoya so singularly unsurprised?

She arches her eyebrows at the request, and he may notice something unusual about her mouth - it has a natural upward quirk to it, which makes her appear to be smirking.]
Why?

This place seems to be find of strange things like that.

[He shrugs.]

I've been female as well. It's shocking at first to change genders, but not unmanageable.

I see.

[He still hasn't explained why he asked her to sit, so she doesn't. Instead, she crosses to one of the baskets and picks up an apricot, a fig and some cherries. She suddenly feels ravenously hungry.]

You have tried the fruit? [In other words, is it safe?]

I have. Now sit.

[She doesn't see the point of asking him again, so she (he, she must think of himself as he now) sits a reasonable distance from Naoya and bites into the apricot. It's juicy, juicier than any fruit he's ever eaten before - twin trails of juice run from either side of his mouth, but he only gets the first when he wipes his hand across his mouth.]

[Naoya chuckles, and reaches over, using his thumb to wipe the other trail of juice from Rei's mouth.]

[Naoya's touch feels strange - it's light and casual, but it seems to sear right into Rei's skin. He shivers and leans back, away from Naoya's hand, touching his face uneasily.]

This is very good fruit. [A little awkwardly. Once the apricot is finished, Rei tries a cherry, holding the other in his hand out to Naoya.]

It is.

[Naoya takes it, touch lingering a few moments longer than necessary. He pops it into his mouth and chews, closing his eyes.]

Not too sour... hah. It's balanced very well...

[Though his face is growing a bit warm... strange.]

[Again, that hint of contact makes Rei shiver. His senses appear to have been heightened somehow, but that's not all - he has to hold himself back from reaching out and grabbing Naoya's hand, keeping their skin in contact. Very strange. Rei isn't usually a big fan of physical contact.

He tries a cherry as well, and finds the same thing - it tastes amazing, even better than the apricot. He eats another, then another, and his body slowly begins to flush with heat.]

Do you feel strange?

Yes.

[Rei just tilts his head curiously. What is so amusing? This isn't amusing to him - he can feel a strange stirring between his legs, an echo of a feeling he felt once before (as a girl, it wasn't exactly like this) but can't remember when.]

Are you sure you should be eating fruits this place has taken the liberty of providing us, sensei?~

[Guess who!~ Joshua has picked Naoya to torment this round, already casually leaning against one of the walls. And yes. Yes he did just appear there out of nowhere. Because he can.]

Not all poisons are meant to hurt the body.

[But he'll be doing it anyway. Taps his chin before holding his hand out, strawberry resting in his palm. Whatever Naoya had been using to hold the fruit is also minus one of the little red berries. This is really the reason Joshua likes being here. More room to be himself.

Pops it into his mouth in the next second. Happy, sensei?]
