Who: Alice Wright and Rory Robinson What: Hanging out, like Gryffindors do. When: Wednesday afternoon Where: Gryffindor common room SFW?: Yep. Status: In progress.
The stacks of books surrounding Alice almost concealed her from view. She'd brought them to her favourite table in the common room and set them up carefully. Although she was in the common area, she had no intention of letting her housemates disturb her while she wrote. She preferred to write around people without having to interact with them, and it was often difficult to find that sort of situation. Today was a lucky day. In fact, the day had gone quite nicely up until homework time.
Unfortunately for Alice, the scene outside proved to be a distraction. There were students outdoors on the grounds. They appeared to be playing a game of tag or chasing each other around rain puddles. The girl wrinkled her nose to keep herself from laughing. She couldn't recognize any particular others from her perch in Gryffindor tower, but she could still watch them move around like ants. Turning her back to the books, she rested her elbows on the window-sill to peer outside and watch the students play. It was a horribly unproductive thing to do, so she told herself she'd only look for a little while.
Her focus on the outdoor activities took away any focus she'd had on the common room. When she saw a flash of red out of the corner of her eye, she didn't pay any mind to whatever that red was. There was no reason to... until sound starting coming from that direction.
