He was doing that thing that always drove Sienna crazy - the nonchalant lean and exasperated chuckle. She loved that and hadn't seen it in a while, so it took her by surprise. But not as much surprise as his next offer.
She was operating under the assumption that he hated her for destroying his life. She wouldn't blame him, in fact she agreed. And so she was very torn. Her friends had broken off, but them leaving together would start some rumors. She did like people talking, and she did want to have this moment with him. But was it too early to be playing off her fallback? she wanted to appear open and willing to all of the eligible bachelors, and this might tarnish her chances. So regrettably, she said,
"Only for a moment, we have to be getting close to the school by now." She stood and locked eyes with him. "Lead the way!"
