Who: Everyone basically; it's hardly a secret What: Welcome back party! Where: The Quidditch Pitch When: 10PM onwards, Friday 6 September SFW: Probably not. Status: Forever incomplete!
Why is the party on the Pitch? Well, why not, right? The girls figured it was as good of a place as any; big enough and easy enough to clean up, plus it was neutral ground rather than being in a Common Room. The only tricky part would be going unnoticed, and that was solved when Kat found in a book the charm that was used to make Hogwarts look like an old ruin to Muggles. A little tweaking, and now the Quidditch Pitch looked perfectly empty to anyone above the age of twenty. That, along with a couple of good-old fashioned silencing charms on the Pitch itself to keep it from drawing undue attention, and they were ready to go.
The Pitch was huge, of course, so the party had mostly been set up at one end. The benches for the players had been moved over, multiplied, enlarged, and cushioned, so that there appeared to be several half-bench, half-sofa hybrids scattered around the edges (Scarlett had been in charge of that, and had declared the strange-looking but entirely functional things 'good enough'). Trays of food and drink hovered at various heights, stocked with finger foods, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and some suspicious punch. A large wizarding wireless set had been placed on a table about halfway to the half-court line, and it was playing Station 6, Groove, at a magically amplified volume: loud enough to dance to, but quiet enough to become background noise in a conversation had over by the bench-sofas.
