►The outcome/score of this match was determined before game start by random dice rolls. ►Hufflepuff scored eight goals overall. Captain Noah Sharpe scored the first goal of the match, then proceeded to score twice more after that. Shannon Riley also scored three goals, and Ethan Macmillan scored two. ►Slytherin scored four goals overall. Alexis Higgs scored three times, Cassius Yaxley scored once, and Septimus Grand was goalless. ►The match lasted two hours and fifteen minutes. The conditions were good: partly cloudy sky, little wind, and a comfortable if seasonably cool temperature. ►Shannon Riley snatched up the Quaffle after the toss and headed straight for the Slytherin goalposts, but Alexis Higgs flew up alongside her and managed to wrest the ball from her grip. Before Higgs could even turn around, however, Hufflepuff Beater Ryan Hart knocked the Quaffle from her hands with a well-timed Bludger. Noah Sharpe was on hand to snatch it up, and he put it through the Slytherin goalposts without much trouble to score the match's first goal just a few minutes in. ►The next bit of action happened a short time later. Hufflepuff supporters rose to their feet in a cheer as Seeker Grayson Withers appeared to be hot on the tail of the Snitch, with Slytherin Captain and Seeker Sienna Mizzi far away on the other end of the Pitch. Nowhere near a Bludger and yet not content to let the match come to an early end, Hayden Rogers grabbed the end of Withers' broom in desperation. Withers barely managed to remain seated as the Snitch flew away, and a furious Hooch called a foul in unison with the Hufflepuff supporters. Ethan Macmillan took the penalty shot and landed it successfully, bringing the score to 20-0 Badgers. ►Slytherin's Chasers attempted some fancy plays early in the game. All three of them sped towards the goalposts, passing the Quaffle back and forth rapidly, but Hannah Brady and Ryan Hart each flew directly at one Chaser, leaving Septimus Grand on his own to toss the Quaffle neatly into Harper Montgomery's hands. Since neither Hart nor Brady actually collided with a Slytherin, no foul was called. ►It took the Serpents quite a while to put points on the board, thanks to the Badgers' vicious defence. By the time Alexis Higgs scored their first goal, Noah Sharpe had scored twice more and Shannon Riley had scored once, so the score was 50-10 at an hour in, with the Badgers comfortably in the lead. ►Hufflepuff continued to be on a roll for most of the first half of the match. The Hawkshead Attacking Formation was used successfully twice, allowing both Shannon Riley and Ethan Macmillan to score once each in rapid succession. Slytherin Keeper Anders Beade appeared intimidated by the three flying directly at him, but on their third attempt he managed a save, then threw the Quaffle to Cassius Yaxley, who darted across the pitch for Slytherin's second goal. ►Not long after Slytherin's second goal came their third. Noah Sharpe was in possession and heading for the Slytherin goalposts when a carefully aimed Bludger courtesy of Scorpius Malfoy knocked it out from under his arm. Septimus Grand caught it and attempted to score, but Harper Montgomery knocked it away. Fortunately for the Serpents, Alexis Higgs was on hand to snatch up the dropped Quaffle and put it through the temporarily unattended left goalpost. ►Another Slytherin foul made for Hufflepuff's last goal of the match. Sienna Mizzi and Cassius Yaxley flew very closely on either side of Hannah Brady as she raised her arm to hit a Bludger at Alexis Higgs, who was heading for the Hufflepuff goalposts. Just after Higgs scored, Hooch called a foul for flying with intent to collide, which angered some Slytherin supporters since there was technically no collision. However, he refused to overturn his call and Shannon Riley successfully took the penalty shot, despite Anders Beade's attempt to employ the Double Eight Loop against her. ►The match ended when Grayson Withers and Sienna Mizzi took off after the Snitch at almost the same time. They were neck and neck until Scorpius Malfoy aimed a Bludger at Withers' head. He ducked, which allowed Mizzi to take the lead and come up with the Snitch just moments later. |
