The subject of the attack was something the people at Xavier's couldn't forget, sure they were coping in their own ways. And some of them even took the experience as a chance to grow from it. But the resentment? The what if's and endless questions of what they could've done to prevent being hurt? That wasn't something easy to let go of. Angel found himself nodding in agreement with Calle about all of them needing more control. A large part of him felt guilty for not being there sooner to help, and there was a deep guilt in him for getting knocked out by some scream.
"I think all of us realized we weren't in control that day, at least not as in control as we liked to believe. But..." his words choked, Angel unsure what else to say. What did he say to someone who took the brunt of the attack? "I don't think there was a way for us to be fully in control or prepared for what those assholes did to us. I mean, now? Now we know we should prepare more to keep our guard and well... we should use all that fucking anger we have to improve ourselves so this doesn't happen again."
Angel didnt curse casually but the attack fired him up, though he wasn't violent by nature part of him was amped to defend his home now. Sure he started training more following the attack but he wasn't seeking revenge. He was merely wanted to keep them all safe. With the realization that his temper was showing Angel meekly smiled in apology as he nervously rubbed his neck. "S-sorry, I'd imagine you rather talk about something else instead of focusing on what we all rather forget about. "
Their abilities proved to be neutral enough for both of them. It made forgetting easier even when his heart went out to the girl when she expressed the awkwardness of losing her connection to an ability. "I disagree with you about an ability not being your's." He corrected, "I mean, you feel it, you know how it works. And well, the moment you introvert how that feels it means it's a part of you even if it tends to fade away eventually. You're just lucky, really. Because you can move on and let it go. The rest of us can't and we're stuck dealing with the consequences those powers have. Like..." a sympathetic grin crossed him as his voice lowered for privacy. "When I found out about my microwaves and before I found the Doc', I couldn't get near any electrical device for months. Things would static or flat out go haywire before I managed to get it under control. And see? You won't have to deal with that so really consider yourself lucky that you can change and adapt. Plus maybe you'll be able to retain some of those powers over time?" a blind shot in the dark. Again his guess was set aside as the girl accepted his thanks genuinely. It felt comforting to have someone backing him up, like he wasn't the only one in this mess.
The red-head laughed as Calle was ready to duck back inside at sign of their conflict. It was easy to see that Angel was amused by the girl's antics as they bantered back and forth between each other. He found himself glad that he ran into Calle out at the club. "Actually I was thinking of adopting a dog someday... my Nana used to have one. I figured I'd adopt one to keep me company." His admission was casual but something he offered to let her get to know him more. Hey, they were socializing afterall!
Angel trailed Calle's gaze as he noticed more people outside on the streets. What time was it again?, the ball was soon to drop and he'd hate to forget about ringing in the new year. Pulling out his cell phone Angel added, "Looks like it's midnight in fourty-five minutes... I wonder if we could get somewhere to watch the celebration in the square?" his curiosity got the best of him. If he were feeling bold he would've flown... no no, blasted his way to Times Square in time for the celebration. But with his luck he'd end up in the Hudson River.
Angel braced for what Calle was going to reveal. Oh. She was fabulous? Instead of laughing Angel nodded soberly. "Oh yeah, I totally see your fabulousity now. I should've known before! I'm sorry." He apologized as he flashed a big grin at the girl. He had to give her credit, she had a healthy confidence. Which was more than some other people could say.
