Calle wasn't stupid. She noticed when things were going downhill, which was one reason that she followed Angel outside, so that she could try and help him out of feeling down and out over what had happened. It was often that in the heat of the moment - sad, angry, even happy moments - they could lose their control over their abilities. The influence of alchol didn't help either. Calle had often accidentally latched on to others abilities without even meaning to.
Like when Calle mimiced Vagrant and made a few people pass out and gave herself a headache. Yeah that was fun.
"Not everyone has perfect control over their abilities. I'm twenty-two and still screw up sometimes. It just happens, you know? You get emotional, shit happens. You get a little intoxicated and you actually feel free for once? It comes back to slap you in the face. That's just what we have to deal with - we'll always have moments that we lose control."
She shook her head and sighed. He stepped forward to ask what she could have done, what it was that she did in general, what her gifts were. She didn't always like revealing what it was she could do, because people got a little angry about it sometimes. Power-stealer. No-talent-of-her-own. Etc etc.
"I have the ability to, essentially, latch on to the genetic codes of others and mimic their abilities. This includes what other mutants can do, and also mimic things they have learned like... karate and things like that. So, essentially, I could have mimiced your abilities to draw the microwaves back in instead of out."
She hadn't actually latched on to him for any good period of time, though, so she didn't have in-depth information on his abilities just yet. She took another drag from the now forgotten cigarette, flicking off the large amount of ash gathered at the end. She made sure to do her best to blow the smoke away from Angel and try not to get it on him. If Storm were nearby she could have directed the winds, but as far as Calle knew Storm was back at the mansion, which was just outside her reaching limits.
"And I like cats anyway, it's okay if puppies cry."
