same! and i was just talking to pennyworth about how they're more likely to get killed over in alexandria because if they were stationed with them, they'd 100% want to protect the place and they're by no means prepared to properly fend off the saviors. not to mention, even if they didn't rise up, they'd abhor the way the whole of alexandria just kinda rolled over for negan's reign. but with negan, it's a different story. they know their roles, they know what they can and can't get away with, and those are parameters they can work with even if they don't always like them.
yeah, losing your parents in front of your eyes and shooting one of your parents is definitely a different kind of trauma. both scenarios force maturity but i think that bruce was more equipped to handle the throes of that maturity before carl just because of how he was brought up and also with alfred as a helping hand along the way. it'd be interesting if they found themselves in a "broken elevator" scenario, trapped together somewhere for long enough that the fight goes out in them and they just wind up sharing once the showdown comes to a standstill.
