oh yeah, i totally see that being a natural trajectory for him, especially since i have z-day coinciding with the day he and alfred were all set to track down matches malone. so all of his righteous vengeance has never been allowed to take shape nor was he ever allowed the closure of finding out why his parents were killed or by whom. negan will have a very calculated, very angry, very capable (thanks alfred!) disciple on his hands. i think they'd do well in the sanctuary too because as you mentioned: alfred is a tough old bird and he knows when to stand down or take a knee.
they've both lost plenty, it's true. i imagine bruce is pretty reserved about what all he's lost. he definitely doesn't volunteer his position as a former boy billionaire to anyone (though i suspect negan might know, either because bruce told him or was called out/warned about lying) but would share in his loss of his parents if he thinks carl needed someone to empathize with. you know, once they're not in strong opposition of each other anyway! i think bruce would side with anyone who had the most incentive to keep alfred alive and unfortunately for team alexandria, it might be the saviors who would utilize and covet an ex-sas soldier the most. it would be fun to have carl and bruce face off however and wind up in a cease fire. definitely something for the future!
