Alicia just, just about managed to restrain herself from squealing out loud, at least aware enough that such noises would scare the nervous kitten. Poor little thing had probably been on her own since far too young. Alicia deliberately pushed the idea that the infected had probably eaten the kitten's mother from her mind, instead reaching out with both hands to accept her, responding to Harley's question with a nod.
The animal was tiny still, and Alicia's smile was huge as she cradled her to her chest, softly stroking her side with her thumb. Very slowly she could feel the calico's tension start to ebb a little, the immediate fear of a new person easing slightly. "She's gorgeous." Alicia kept her tone gentle. "Negan just has to let her stay." Their leader, her husband, might have been a tough man, even cruel when he needed to be, but there would be nothing to gain from hurting a defenceless animal. Plus no one would be able to deny the cuteness. "We can spare bits of meat for her and make some toys from stuff like boot laces." Maybe hone some sort of hunting instinct, which could be useful.
Eventually she was able to pull her gaze away to look up at Harley with a grin. "I never knew you were a cat person." It was adorable really. As much as he often tried to hide it, Alicia knew he had a softer side to him, and she considered herself lucky to get to see it.
