"Sounds like a date." When was the last time they'd really given themselves the opportunity to do something normal, or 'fun'? Surely they'd gotten past pure survival and basic needs mode by now. Having to constantly be on edge and worry about the bare essentials sucked all the cheap thrills out of life, and none of them even had that long to live anyway.
"Maybe you did. He told me to go this way and he's wandered off that way, so here we are." Constantine didn't seem overly concerned about his 'buddy'. Throughout their outing he hadn't heard any blood-curdling screams or shots fired. Even if they did, there was no point rushing over trying to find the poor sod. If he hadn't taken care of whatever he felt the need to shoot at, it'd have taken care of him, and it was likely too late to do anything about it.
"I'm harmless mate. I didn't do anything to him or play any Jedi mind tricks, if that's what you're wondering." Constantine smiled and turned to face Harley, taking a couple of small steps backwards closer towards the river. He pulled his hand out of his pocket to tap ashes from his cigarette away, keeping all his movements deliberate and slow.
"You and your boss have some quirky trust issues going on. Can't be out here wandering alone if you don't trust someone to watch your back."
