Which wasn't much. Daryl's hair had passed what normal people would call shaggy and was taking up a look that only he could pull off. Maybe he did need a cut but he felt bad for anyone who came at him with a set of clippers. He liked his hair. Liked the way it fell over his eyes leaving him just enough leeway to gaze darkly at Negan.
Bastard. The asshole was too fucking smug for his own good and Daryl would have loved nothing more than to bury an arrow in the middle of his forehead. Late night dreams? Maybe. When he actually got any sleep in that piece of shit cell. Which wasn't often at all.
Harley had mentioned him being a pet. What else would you describe Daryl Dixon as? Hell, he was a mutt in a sense and he had no problem showing off those aspects at times. A fucking stray who did what he had to in order to survive. This was different though. Than anything else he had been through and that much he was smart enough to realize. Daryl didn't think of himself as starting to cave. Maybe this was his own form of manipulation. Letting Negan think Harley's efforts weren't all for nothing.
Daryl paused if only for a second causing the men behind him to shoulder bump him. He met Negan's gaze. The last thing he wanted was for something to have happened to the people back home that he cared about. He still had no idea what the hell was going on out there.
That's for damn sure. Daryl repeated in his head. This was nothing like Alexandria. Not when it came to the housing or the people or the families. This was something completely different. Something Daryl wanted to get the hell out of as fast as humanly possible.
But his thoughts hung on Negan's words as he followed him. He didn't believe Negan. That wasn't their way. They didn't bow or break. They fought. For their families. For what they believed in. To survive. Rick wouldn't break that code. It had to be some kind of play.
Daryl just stared after Negan. He didn't want to see the room. Or hear what Negan had to offer. But the men behind him wasted little time in shoving Daryl into the room when he refused to move on his own. Dark blue eyes winced just barely. They had adjusted to the light already just it was more out of habit as he cocked his head and let his gaze linger about the room as he stood there unimpressed. Clearly offering him something like this just proved that they had no idea who Daryl really was. Hell, it took him forever to shower and start to get comfortable in Alexandria.
His fingers flexed at his sides and he finally pulled his gaze back to the man in charge. "Rick and them.." he paused obviously wanting to know more but having no idea how to go about asking.
