» About JUMPJUMPYAY:
This here is my graphics journal, mostly consisting of icons but expect to see various other graphics such as banners and mood-themes, and other misc. things. I'll try and be as organized as I can on here and group things for convenience. I started this journal because I sometimes make a lot of icons to share with fellow communities, and after that I never use them. So this is a way for me to display them so other people can wander by and snag a few if they like. SOMEBODY should get a use outta them, right? :D
» The SUPER-STRICT RULES:
Credit is not required (see below for details). However, I would love a comment if you see something you like. Comments encourage me and inspire me to make more graphics; I enjoy making things other people like, and I also love seeing other people use my graphics (it gives me the illusion of my popularity :3). Also, since graphics are generally easy to conjure up, I don't mind taking requests either; just be prepared for a bit of a wait, because Procrastination is my middle name (actually it's Elizabeth, but that's irrelevant...) :B
» Why crediting is never required for icons:
Probably all of the icons I have made and will make in the future are mostly just fancied-up, cropped-down screenshots from one of my fandoms. It's not my original artwork no matter how much I doctor it up and therefore I no longer believe that I have a right to ask people to credit me for it.
Honestly, it's rather retarded for people to be all OMG CREDIT IS REQUIRED AND IF YOU DON'T CREDIT ME PROPERLY I'LL HUNT YOU DOWN AND BURN YOU OVER T3H BIG BAD INTARWEB SO YOU TOTALLY BETTER CREDIT ME OR ELSE, BITCH!!
People have gotten way too uptight about their icons. I know hard work is put into making them, and nobody likes to have their work stolen, but the amount of rules people make up is just ridiculous. And what do they do when they find an icon that hasn't been properly credited? Nothing much; just wank at them until they add a credit. Honestly people really get their panties in a bunch over it, I've seen it happen a lot. Those icons will never make you money, or any other sort of profit, and you certainly can't press charges if somebody uses your precious icon without crediting.
If you want to credit me anyway, by all means, I would appreciate it (besides it pimps my journal :D) because I do put a lot of work and effort into my icon-making. I'm always grateful when I see my username next to an icon, don't get me wrong, it's just that I'll never jump down your throat if you don't do it.
THE ONLY TIME I WILL EVER ASK TO BE CREDITED is if for some reason I happen to make an icon using my own artwork (which I don't tend to do). Otherwise, you totally don't need to worry about it. I'm not going to hunt anyone down and be all ZOMG U THIEF U DIDENT CREDIT ME OMGZ!11 U HORRIBEL PERSUN IM GUNNA EET U!!111 >E
HOWEVER, while I don't ask to be credited, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not claim anything I make as your own. That's all I ask. What am I going to do about it if somebody does? Well, nothing really. But it's not nice, so please refrain from doing so .__.
