RP: Dinner with the Weasleys When: 22 January 2004 Who: Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Molly Weasley, Arthur Weasley (NPC), any other Weasleys or Weasley surrogates are welcome to drop in for dinner Where: the Burrow Private/Public: Semi-Private Rating: PG Summary: Ron and Hermione stop by the Burrow for dinner and to submit to questioning about their relationship (i.e. when are they getting married is what Molly wants to know!)
Hermione took a deep breath and shifted the parcel in her arms. She looked at Ron and wondered if he was feeling as stressed as she was. Probably not, she decided. He was used to his mother. Hermione loved Molly to death but she could be a force of nature when she got a full wind behind her, and she’d had days to prepare for this dinner.
Things seemed to be going well with Ron. She’d been doing her best to leave work as close to the acceptable time as she could manage, and she’d not been bringing copious amounts of work home. She’d promised herself to make time for Ron when she was home, and to that end, she had blocked off the evenings as Ron time on her daily schedule. Not that it was a hardship, by any means. She could spend a half hour just watching him read. Or shave or sleep or pretty much anything he did. She kept worrying that she would wake up and it would all have been nothing but a nice dream. When she woke up in the morning, before she even opened her eyes, she reached out to make sure he was there beside her.
She wanted this dinner to go well. She knew Molly had been wanting them to get back together from the start, and she didn’t know why she was so nervous. She didn’t think Molly was going to be angry with her over the whole thing, but she couldn’t help remembering their fourth year when Rita Skeeter had been writing such awful things about her and Molly had believed every word. To keep from doing nothing but worrying, she’d cooked a little before they left, making some pumpkin bread and a vegetable casserole for the meal to help out.
She gave Ron one more nervous look and knocked at the Burrow door.
