Ernie couldn't recall the last time he had actually spoken to Ron, but that didn't mean he didn't like the man. True, Ernie had his moments with the trio during their school days, but the DA had done much in the way of improving Ernie's opinion of them. Besides, only a git couldn't appreciate all they had accomplished.
He accepted Ron's hand with a bright smile. "Working," he replied almost apologetically. He couldn't help recalling his promise to Hannah about not losing touch. It still made him feel guilty thinking his job got in the way of people. He had, after all, wanted to work in law to help others. "And recovering like everyone else. How about you?" He and Ginny had talked briefly about her family, but Ernie didn't know too terribly much.
