"No you weren't," she said, looking at him. "Honestly Miles, what's the point in lying? You would have turned up with gifts and expected to have been forgiven which wouldn't have happened," She shook her head and took another sip of her champagne before locking eyes with him again. "What you said hurt a lot and you knew that even as you were saying it. You can't expect me to not do something you're doing yourself and then insult me when I don't agree."
