"Why are you tensing?" Kenneth frowned. "It's the way things are between me and him, Stamford. He can't have scandal and he can't have a support system that he isn't able to rely on. He wouldn't do it with anybody else, just me and my sisters," he said with a shrug. "There's also no point in my bitching. Arguing knowing I can't win is well... Pointless."
He paused, having not expected that answer. Did Stamford actually care about him or his job? Instead he smiled and said nothing, getting up when Stamford reached for his hand. "I spent most of my day in the gym. I probably do need the rest more than you," he said, moving close to Stamford and leaning in for a kiss. "Well I'm far prettier to wake up in the morning to than a hangover. I'll agree with you there."
