RP: The Personal Assistant When: March 15, 2004 Who: Megan Jones Where: St. Mungo's Private/Public: Private Rating: All Ages Summary: Megan leaves St. Mungo's.
Perhaps she wasn't in full health just yet, but the Healers had done all they could to fixed the capillaries that the hex had ruptured, even if she was going to be taking a potion for the next few days. Apparently she had to take it easy. Bollocks to that. The Ministry sounded pretty damn crippled right now and she wasn't going to lie around in a hospital bed when there were things to do. She would go and stay with her parents for a bit - Dai Jones had been a Hit Wizard for over twenty years and wasn't the sort of bloke you said no to, and her mam was a nurse. She might be a Muggle, but she knew enough about patient care and recovery.
One night at St. Mungo's was enough for Megan, but before she left for Cardiff, she made her way to the fourth floor. Security was rather beefy, but she could hardly fault that. Megan only had to do a little glaring and didn't even have to resort to foot-stomping before she was granted access to Robards. He was still classed as critical, but by all reports was stable. Provided he continued improving, he would still be here for the better part of a week.
Right. That was good to know. Forget taking it easy - she was going to have to pull out all the stops this week. But if anyone could help make it look as though Robards was still a fully-functioning member of the Ministry it was her. She was a firm believer that the assistants were the ones who really kept things going in the department and it was definitely going to have to be that way for a little while.
She left a copy of today's Daily Prophet with Robards for him to read when he stopped having double vision and then made the Hit Wizards on guard aware that if anyone other than his family tried to see him that she was to be informed. Which reminded her that she needed to ask Robard's family to keep the extent of his injuries quiet and that it was probably best she informed Stamford Jorkins she was returning to work tomorrow morning should he need information for any further press releases.
If all went well, Robards would be back at work a week tomorrow and the general public would have no idea that the Head of Magical Law Enforcement had been incapacitated in such a way. At least, that was the outcome she was aiming for. Hopefully Robards would be eating solid food again in a couple of days, so she could bring work and information to him. But, for now, they needed to keep up appearances.
She was going to need a truckload of pick 'n' mix this week.
