Aloysius hadn't slept well. The practice with Lance would have been bad enough, but combined with the intense "conversation" with Dieter, he'd been left laying in bed long past midnight, tossing and turning, angry, self loathing, partially aroused, and torn apart. His thoughts tormented him, of what he was, what was wrong with him, and it ate at him until finally he'd gotten out of bed, gotten dressed, and gone down to sit in the Common Room until dawn. He often didn't sleep well, but this, this was something else entirely. In the midst of all the thoughts, the one thing that he kept coming back to was Vera. He hated thinking he would ever do anything to hurt her, and even if they were only fifteen, he knew she was something good in his life. Like he'd told Dieter, she made him feel normal. And he felt for her a way he hadn't for a girl before. He wanted to see her. Wanted to make sure this wasn't in his head, and the games Dieter had played weren't an indication that he was more monster than man. So he stood, quietly, waiting for her, dressed in his school clothes, with his book bag sitting neatly at his feet, unsure of what he wanted to say or do. If Aloysius’ warding her that morning had alarmed her Vera didn’t show it as she peaked around the corner, first with only the top of her head and then her eyes until Aloysius could see the pert smile on her face. Her lips were pursed together precociously as she met his gaze a moment before stepping out from around the corner fully. Her robes sweeping, or dragging, the floor from her shorter stature, no doubt hand-me-downs from Sophia, with the golden Prefect badge attached about her Slytherin crest. “Good morning, darling.” She dropped her bag next to his and reached for his hand. “You wanted to see me?” A movement caught his attention, and Ally looked up in time to see Vera slowly unfolding herself around the corner. She was adorable, and he couldn't help the smile that crept over his face at the sight of her. He took her hand and squeezed it back, then on impulse pulled her closer and wrapped his arms around her in a hug, burying his face in her hair. She smelled good, clean and real after the darker thoughts of the evening. He made a quiet noise of greeting, and let out a long breath, then let her go long enough that he could look at her. Caught off guard Vera went forward and into Aloysius’ arms with little hesitation. She stepped into his hug, letting her head rest against his chest, hearing the steady drumming of his heart somewhere beneath the flesh and bones. It was nice and she was hardly about to complain at him for holding her near. Her cheek nuzzled against him the longer he held her until she felt his hold on her slacken. Drawing back Vera looked up at Aloysius, one eyebrow lifting in bemusement and blinking rapidly up at him, “You’re looking at me like you haven’t seen me in days,” her head shook left to right as she spoke indicating the silliness of such a thing. She cupped her hand against his cheek and then reached up to place a kiss where her hand had just been. “Is everything okay?” As she settled back to her heels, her face shown with worry that something had gone wrong. Vera didn’t know what was going on with the hexing of mudbloods, but she did know Aloysius was somehow involved. Which made her at once proud and worried; she’d hate for something to happen to him. "I missed you is there something wrong with that?" Aloysius said, striving for a light tone and utterly failing. When she kissed his cheek, he felt a gentle warmth that only Vera could cause, it was far different from the more violent reaction he'd had the night before, and he closed his eyes for a moment, then pulled her back against him again. "I -" He broke off, not able to speak, really, because what could he say to her? He could never tell her this, any of it, not ever, there was no one he could tell. He pulled her back farther into their little alcove. "We need to find a way to see each other more often, because this every day in class isn't really enough." Taken aback Vera stepped further into the alcove with him, the smaller space meaning she had to stand much closer to his body than she might have usually. “Of course there’s nothing wrong with that. I was just worried-“ She glanced around her a bit to make sure they were well and truly alone. “That something had gone wrong.” She tugged his hand, slightly pulling him softly against her and turning until his larger frame was hiding hers in the corridor. “Are you saying you want to sneak out?” She grinned somewhat mischievously. It was odd, how this situation mirrored in some ways the one yesterday. Him pinning her against a hard space, although the way she looked up at him was anything but unhappy. "Maybe," he said, considering. He looked at her, then leaned in, not sure where his emotions were quite coming from but understanding it none the same. "Possibly." He leaned in and kissed her, kissed her like he would have kissed a boy, harder, and not nearly as gentle as he'd always been. To his surprise it wasn't any different, except she was so small, and that made it nice, his body pressed against hers. Cheeks flushing as Aloysius’ larger frame pushed her back into the wall for a much more fevered kiss than she was used to; Vera was surprised to find she liked it and that it left her breathless. It felt so much more improper than the soft kisses she was becoming so accustomed to and when Aloysius finally pulled away from her, her arms stayed around his neck where they had slid and she looked up at him with a doe-eyed look. She resisted the urge to let a simple wow rush from her lips, instead she only tilted her head to the side and smiled at him curiously. “Before breakfast, after lunch, rounds,” and she pulled his lips back down to hers. All good choices, really. He could hope that snogging her senseless before breakfast would still any questions she had as to his motives, and as for Aloysius, he found that a surprisingly fierce Vera did a very good job of taking his mind off of any problems he had been haunted by the night before. He kissed her back, and it was some time before they broke apart. His blood felt hot in his veins and unsurprisingly other places, and somehow his tie was half down and her shirt completely untucked out of her skirt. "All of the above," he said quietly. A wicked sort of smile crossed over his lips, and he reached up to smooth down her tousled hair with gentle fingers. Liberties were taken that Vera was shocked at herself for allowing, but she found that Aloysius’ aggressiveness only fueled her on, causing her to be much more brazen than she might have in normal circumstances. Her heart was pounding steadily in her chest, knees weak as Aloysius held her tighter than usual. She eyed their disheveled clothes in the moments after they broke apart and giggled. “Well.” She looked upwards at his hand, straightening her hair before moving her gaze back to him. And then she reached up, straightening and tightening his tie, her lips swollen and pink and matching her hot cheeks. “We have an accord than, darling.” She bit her lip softly, shyly before she pulled on his tie bringing his face down to meet hers. She placed a soft, much chaster kiss than the ones they had just been sharing against his lips. There are very odd moments in life when things just make complete sense, and this was one of them for Aloysius. Perhaps it was her complete and utter acceptance of him, her wanting him and only him or maybe it was just exactly what he needed just then. He felt at peace, like he could breathe again, and at the same time, Vera began to steadily worm her way into a very steady place in his affections. She looked like much more of a hoyden than usual, and he found a somewhat pleased satisfaction in that. Because it was just for him. "Good," he said. He kissed her back gently and let his forehead rest against hers. "Do you have any idea how much I fancy you?" His forehead heavy against hers, Vera slowly shook her head no, against the weight. “But I hope it is a great deal.” She wrapped her arms around his waist, hugging him tightly, “Else it shan’t even come close to how much I fancy you.” She stepped back, looking up at him then before beginning to tuck her shirt back into her skirt. She went about it as ladylike as is possible for one to address hastily, half-removed clothing, but still couldn’t help but to feel embarrassed and shy at the idea of dressing herself in some manner in Aloysius’ gaze. “And I should be rather cross with you for leaving my clothing in such a state, if you didn’t.” Aloysius reached for his wand and cast an anti-wrinkle charm on her garments and then his own, leaving them looking good as new, then took a step back as he watched her finish tidying herself. He reached for her hand again, threading his fingers through it and catching up both their schoolbags together in his free hand. "I don't think you have to worry about that," he said, with a quiet smile of his own. "I wouldn't even dream of doing this with anyone else." |
