MUGGLE WAR REPORT as read by Jane Earlier in the week, the King signed a proclamation extending the operation of the National Service Acts to young men who have reached the age of 18 since October 22 last year, and lowering the age limit for women from 20 to 19. On the warfronts, the Russian forces have continued advancing, capturing over 600 places including Millerovo and Rossosh. German High Command rejected a Russian ultimatum calling upon the trapped army in Stalingrad to surrender; the Red Army is beginning its final assault. Libya is under allied control. Throughout the week, the RAF has bombed airfields in France. On the 16th, RAF heavy bombers attacked Berlin, dropping high explosive and incendiary bombs. MAKE IT WORK as read by Winnie [sound of bubbling] This week, on Make it Work, I'm making a swelll soap that works wonders for the complexion! With rationing, soap is hard to come by, and here's a really wonderful concoction you can make at home using simple ingredients! It's no more difficult than making a potion! [Sound of stirring and something being added to a pot.] The trick is, saving up all your scraps and bits of leftover soap! Have a small jar in the bathroom or on your nightstand for that purpose! Or collect them from your friends. Boil them down, then add an infusion you've made previously of water, a small handful of oats, and herbs such as rosemary or lavender, soaked overnight and then drained. Next you add some Glycerin, shredded nettles to exfoliate, and coconut oil, along with a spoon of honey to help keep it fresh and to moisturize the pores! This batch is still brewing, but I've made a previous batch I'm going to try out on my willing subject, Caradoc Dearborn! Now Caradoc, on the left we used regular school soap, and on the right, the Complexion Concotion. Can you feel the difference? GRINDELWALD WAR REPORT as read by Bess Grindelwald's army is seeing losses of men. Efforts by forces on the continent have been able to successfully block supplies from getting to Grindelwald's forces. Of course, by the aid of magic they are not completely bereft, but there are rumors of disquiet among the forces and even of soldiers abandoning their positions. One can only hope that by continued efforts to demoralize the forces, Grindelwald's grasp on the continent will weaken. HEART TO HEART as read by Bingham (read in falsetto) Dear Grizel, MOMENT OF SUNSHINE WITH ROSEMARY as read by Rosemary When he was a young man, England's Muggle Prince Albert hated public speaking. He stammered dreadfully, and his first time speaking to a large audience over a microphone in the 1920s was a disaster. He and his family lived a quiet life, out of the spotlight as best they could for royalty. |
