Protecting Your Computer Workspace
Because of various degrees of drama and news that we receive from the Internet, sensitives often are affected. Energy is very much like electricity and can travel via an electric current through the computer to you.
This applies to emotions that we receive from others (from reading journal entries, emails, news stories, conversations in IM, etc.) and the emotions that are triggered because of it.
I’ve seen too many people hurt and affected to the point of being crippled – so I’ve taken measures to further protect my workspace and decided to share it in this community.
1) Stones and Crystals are your friends
I have a Calcite sphere in front of my monitor that stops any negative energy or emotions from coming through the computer.
I also have a pointed crystal of cherry quartz flanked by agate above the computer to filter the negativity away and welcome in positive energy.
Also, stones are good for grounding and preventing any EMFs (electromagnetic fields) from messing with your energy. I’m the type who is soothed by electricity, but I know that a person’s polarity can be shot with extensive use of a computer and other electronic equipment.
I’ve found that chestnuts help to ground, adjust your polarity, and provide a buffer between a person and electronic frequencies.
Even just having stones around your workspace will help tremendously (be sure to cleanse/smudge them every so often). You can go to a rock & gem shop and intuitively select them or the following are really helpful:
Quartz
Amethyst
Agate
Calcite
Hematite (cleanse this often)
Carnelian
Malachite
Black Obsidian
Sodalite
2) Cut cords from situations
Ground & protect.
Ask guides, higher powers, etc. for assistance and they will help.
Seek out any cords that may be siphoning your energy. You don’t need something that you read on the computer affecting you long after you’ve stepped away from the desk.
Envision yourself cutting away at cords around your body (swords, chainsaws, daggers, your choice!), burning them away with fire, washing them away with a waterfall’s heavy spray, etc.
Then have a gentle light seal the areas and fill you with warmth.
You should feel lighter and freer. ^___^ I recommend drinking a glass of water afterwards to ground yourself. You may be thirsty afterwards as well.
3) Smudging
Using incense or sage to cleanse the area. By using the smoke and making sure you surround the workspace and the entire room – you eliminate any lingering/stagnant energy that may be negative.
You can also do this with a candle, moving up and around the computer and the room.
4) Candles
Burning a candle while you’re at the computer will help to keep lighter energy present, as well as burn away any negativity.
Scented candles also have aromatherapy benefits that can help to ease stress.
Also, moving your hands over the top of the flame - almost as if your washing your hands by rubbing them together - will help you disconnect from a situation.
5) Charging Items with Positive Energy and Emotions
Items that represent a positive emotions or energy, that have been immersed in it are truly wonderful to have around the workspace. A photograph, piece of jewelry, stuffed animal, etc can do wonders.
Having them charged by Healers (such as with Reiki) and other energy workers does wonders.
6) Water
Having a glass of water nearby is always handy. Not only if it good for your health, but it can help to ground you. If you intend that your body will be cleansed by the glass of water, you may be surprised that the taste of the water almost seems sweet and even more soothing.
Washing your hands after using the computer also helps you to disconnect or even taking a shower.
Note: With all of the above, intention is key.
If you intend your workspace to be cleansed with the above tools (by praying, meditating, asking higher powers, etc) – it will be done so.
