Fire Meditations
Fire can be a powerful cleanser, burning away toxic thoughts or substances. It can also be utilized to create a shield around you, burning away any emotions that are not yours, turning difficult situations into ash.
With each of these meditations I recommend having a source of flame near you, if you prefer to further connect with the fire element. If you’re highly sensitive, you’ll feel the energy emanating from the fire. If you’re connected to the fire, you will feel it steadily working with you.
I’ve used candles with healing and the fire element is strong with them. I love working with them and use them in cleansings of my home, objects, and of my body.
The great thing about them is that you can choose your favorite scent or color to use.
If you’re in an area where you can build a bonfire, by all means do so safely and try the meditations. ^__~
The Basics for a quick meditation:
This is a visualization technique that combines aspects of meditation and relaxation to place both your body and mind at rest. Visualization done correctly utilizes all of your senses as it focuses on a particular object or situation.
If you prefer to further connect with the fire element do this technique while focusing on a candle or beside a bonfire.
Instructions:
1) Close your eyes and take a slow deep breath. Exhale and visualize your breath carrying away your thoughts and the sounds of daily life. Take another slow breath and let your body completely relax. As you exhale, begin your visualization.
2) Find your inner eye in the space between and slightly above your eyes in the center. Be careful not strain your eyes or tense your forehead.
3) Imagine a small light on the path of your inner eye. Look into the light and see it grow into a small campfire
4) Draw closer to the fire and feel it emanating warmth. Visualize extending your hands out towards it and rubbing them together. Sense the soothing heat as it embraces your toes. Feel the glow of it on your face and the way it opens your pores.
5) Inhale deeply, breathing in the fire's aroma. Hear the crackle as small cinders disintegrate. Watch the embers as they lazily float towards the sky.
6) Keep watching and smelling and feeling that campfire as you breathe normally. Focus your entire body and your mind on that campfire ridding your mind of any other thoughts of feelings.
7) Stay at the fire, basking in its glow for at least 15 minutes. When you are ready to complete the visualization, collect the light and power you have accessed. Feel it energize your body and mind with any activity you later pursue. Take a few deep breaths and commit the feeling in your mind and body to memory. It will help you access your inner light more easily in future meditations. Then open your eyes and continue your daily routine.

Deeper Meditation
For this meditation, it involves the chakras, which are energy centers within your body. This mediation tells where they are in case you’re not familiar with their location.
Sit in a dark room with only your candle as light. Sit with your spine upright and slow your breath. As you gaze at the candle flame, allow your slow, deep breath to start to heat you, building your internal flame. Extend the breath and heat until your whole body feels warm. During and between each of these steps, you will take several deep breaths, allowing yourself to absorb the experience.
Beginning at your root chakra, the base of your pelvis, visualize the flame of the candle burning there. As it burns, it draws other sparks of light like moths or fireflies, growing in intensity. Each spark of light can represent something you want to bring into your sense of root: belonging, community, safety, home, abundance. When you feel full, move on to the second chakra.
Bring the vision of a candle flame into your central pelvis. Let it get brighter, attracting sparks of light to feed it. These sparks can represent what you want to bring into your second chakra: passion, creativity, longing, drive, sensuality. Let your visions of these feed the flame until it feels full.
Move the flame up into your solar plexus. Breathe with the heat growing there, attracting little flecks of light. What do you want to feed your third chakra? Sovereignty, expression, direction, focus, pride in self. Continue until you feel full.
Let the flame fill your heart. Allow the sparks of your desire to fill and feed the fire in your heart: compassion, grace, right relationship, acceptance, forgiveness, freedom from judgment. Do not move on until your heart feels full to bursting with energy.
Allow the flame to fill your throat. Here (or anywhere else, really) you may feel that the burning clears first before it starts to feed this energy center. Start seeding the fire with the desires you have for your expression: clarity, fearless truth, ruthless compassion, space for your voice, loving expression.
Focus the flame at your brow point. Allow the lights to help feed your flame, attracting and growing vision without assumptions, detachment from outcome, ability to witness, honoring all creation, clarity.
Establish the flame at the crown of your head. Let it become a roaring fire, fed by the sparks of your desire for divine relation: ecstasy, union with Truth, enlightenment. Breathe the energy of this ecstatic fire down the front of your body, renewing the other flames. Allow your breath to rise it up your spine, feeding and growing them all.
To close, earth the energy by putting your hands on the ground and thanking spirit for your ability to expand and experience energy. By the end of this, you are probably thirsty—don’t hold back. Drink lots of water.
