Katie, who had politely resisted the urge to jump up and smother Oliver with affection the second he entered the kitchen remained silent for some time. She was chewing. Shortbread naturally, and the fact of the matter was as happy and excited as she was to see Oliver and talk to him, the shortbread was exquisite and deserved all her attention. Her other emotions, however, the ones not controlled by her taste buds became impatient and quickly lined up to complain.
She swallowed as hastily as she dared. "Flight was horrible. I had to apparate halfway across the sea and pray I'd end up in the right town! Didn't want to apparate straight here but I couldn't stay on the broom any longer. And then the wind was just as bad on the ground, hence the appearance which I apologise for. I'd have fixed it up but honestly? You know Gram's baking. I'd have offended it if it wasn't my first priority."
