[Alecta/Open]
It was the one event of the Founders Festival Alecta always looked forward to the most: the Ball. Sure, the other events were nice as well, the fireworks were pretty, the play was rather fascinating, and the technology displays were interesting. But nothing came close to the thrill she felt when she arrived at the Ball.
Like every other year, she was accompanied by her husband, Athlis. Taking off her long coat once they were inside, she was pleased to hear his small gasp upon seeing her in her new dress, a coy smirk playing on her lips. She took great care to find the perfect dress for the evening - red, strapless, long and flowing - and seeing his reaction, she knew she succeeded. Her hair was up in an elegant bun, leaving her shoulders bare and on show, a shining tiara sitting atop her head. She knew she looked good, and by the familiar look in Athlis' eyes, he thought the same. It helped to ease her fears of aging a little.
She was absolutely not getting old, no way.
Deciding to find herself a glass of whatever alcohol was being served tonight, she pressed a kiss to Athlis' cheek, offering to get him a glass as well while he conversed with old friends and acquaintances, and then she set off towards the endless tables, packed with food and drinks.
