AMOS & CIAN -- BUTCHER STREET: 3:10PM.
"About as much as can be expected," Cian replied. Not exactly evasive, but not brimming with information, either. His status in this district was known to law-abiding individuals, too. "People are hungry and pissed, now some of them're homeless, on top of it." Including him. "Cleaning it up's a process."
The overtones of the response were noted. Amos' relationship with his family was a damn sight better than Cian's - he didn't know or care whether the old whore was alive anymore, frankly, though he hoped she'd croaked - but still, it wasn't rosy, either. Then again, people who claimed to happy families usually seemed to be lying, in his experience. "And you?" he asked after a moment. "Whatever the hell it was, I don't think it got out to your part of town, so I'm guessing things're about as normal as they get?"
