A more sensitive woman might've taken offense, joke or no, but Damia took it in stride, raising a brow at him as if maybe, on some level, it had offended. One of the good things about Cian was that he, too, could take a joke, better than she could, usually. Sarcasm was one of the forces that drew them back together once in a while, and it was a comfort to know he didn't need more than what she could give. A funny, sarcastic man was better than any serious one. Laughing things off made them more bearable.
"Shall I dine on rats for the next while? They don't have much meat, unless I'm able to find a fat one." Her eyes skimmed the area. "But I doubt I'll find any of those in these parts."
