"I remember," she said with a nod. At least, she hoped she had not forgotten. Her memory was one of her better qualities; slowly bur surely her own experiments with cooking were beginning to bear fruit as well. She rarely forgot a recipe, though she was terrified of deviating, and any recipe that asked her to "eyeball a measurement" made her immediately anxious. Why not provide a weight or a volume? Was it really so difficult?
Fortunately, these ingredients were already measured out, so she began chopping and mincing, slowly but surely, preparing the next batch of marinade. Perhaps it was odd that she was learning to cook along with learning to fight, but... she still did not find that it cooled her temper, but it was satisfying to make something. She had realized only recently that prior to this foray into such an unexpected hobby, she never had.
"The salad is finished," she told him as she worked; she supposed he would have noticed that she was done with it, but the large vat of it sat on ice now, ready to be served to those who wished something lighter to go with their meal. She would be eating it herself, once it was her turn to eat. She did not mind helping to prepare the steaks, but she would not partake, even if the scent was not unappetizing. Red meat would always upset her stomach. Perhaps later, she would venture over to the food vendors and see if someone was selling prawns or octopus in some guise. She was rather fond of both.
