[8:11am, Secret location: He is not in anyone’s bed, he has no idea what you’re talking about.] Oh hoho! What a fine day it would be indeed! Perhaps the spirits of the night before had not worn off, or maybe it was a spark of excitement that lingered in the air from good cheer and fine work that had been in abundance the day before but Duke Reinholdt felt as though little to nothing would be keeping him down today, or any other day this week! For it was the week of the Founders Festival! The Founders Festival! His second favorite time of year aside from the winter holidays! They just had such tasty ales, ciders, and baked goods. Oh yes! And the fires roaring with good cheer, oh yes how the duke looked forward to that as well! However, one occurrence at the moment must be had before the other could arise. With that, his feet swung out and he stood, moving with purpose because if he did not prepare himself for the day now, he might not at all! [10:03am, Fighters Guild Exhibition: Berserkers, Sentinels, Samurai and Dragoons, oh my!.] Ah! What a lively sort! The most curious of curious creatures certainly inhabited the Fighter’s Guild! Some might say the Bard’s Guild was full of oddballs and bizarre sorts but indeed not! Indeed not at all! At least, not to Reinholdt. The mixture of masochists, speedsters and face smashers, in all their glory never failed to enrapture his attention. Their acts of brutality, even against each other were fascinating and something someone of signficant ability in calculation might find a way to use against them. Perhaps, someday, someone should indeed. For this moment, Reinholdt would relax cheerfully with the other patrons. Cheering when a good hit was struck, and booing when a crowd favorite was hit, heck even sometimes booing when someone loved by the crowd landed a good hit just to see their reaction. [12:11pm, Technology Display: Best in show~.] Oo! Ahh! What a marvelous sight it was to see all of the older Mechanics displaying their goods, their pride and joys before the crowds. They had clearly spent several months , to many years!, tirelessly laboring over each and every item available for experimentation on this day. Many tickled his fancy quite well, and Reinholdt would be hard pressed to not smile and chuckle at the creativity and brilliance displayed before him. If it was an experimental rocket pack, a status vest or even just some new child’s toy airplane, it all held such promise! Meandering from one booth to the next with a bright smile across his face, Reinholdt’s eyes danced with delight amongst the inventions and patrons enjoying them. This was indeed, what a Founders Festival was about. [2:32pm, Chocobo Races.] The crowd gasped with a turn in the bend and Reinholdt stood, cheering loudly for some random number to take the lead without any particular interest as to who actually won this match at all. It was the thrill, the ups and downs of the race that enraptured him the most. The fact that he could earn some gil off the long standing status of some of the racers just made it all that much better. However, around that same bend, it would be taken a bit too quickly by one rider, causing the large bird to lose it’s footing and tumble off into the side of the track. Quickly Reinholdt’s nose scrunched, lips pulling back as he sucked in air between his teeth, a look of pain crossing his face in sympathy for the rider who had just fallen. That certainly would smart in the morning. [4:51pm, Airship Show.] Airships were the most fascinating contraptions. They had such a large variation of moving parts and mechanisms, not to mention the mixture of the mist they required to actually work! Unfortunately, Reinholdt had found out long ago he didn’t entirely have the stomach for them. If the ride was short enough, or the airship steadied enough by having a thick cabin, those thick enough to make it feel like you weren’t flying at all, then he could somewhat manage a trip on one. It was almost upsetting though, because they were just... So fascinating. [5:59pm, Founders Play: The best in show~.] There was a bit of a gathering already fluttering about before the play began. It was both entertaining and amusing all in the same instance. Thankfully, most people seemed distracted by the possibility of seeing one of the entertainers more than some measly guild master. Of course, this allowed him the joy of people watching, waiting and seeing just who might be looking to invest in more than just the play. With that, Reinholdt had taken this opportunity to acquire himself some of the finer spirits stored in the area about them and leaned back easily on the stool he sat on. Her back leaned slightly against bar and his jacket had been undone a couple buttons, revealing his purple waist jacket with orange stitching to a much fuller extent than it had previously been displayed. Not that Reinholdt seemed bothered in the least. [10:42pm, After Party: Hay, hay, hay~.] If anyone in the city knew how to entertain guests after a performance, it was performers. They had the best after parties and Reinholdt, of course, had managed to amass himself quite the list of invitations. However, as he was looking to enjoy himself more than keep up appearances, a selection had been made based on the entertainment value than the status or monetary gain that could be coupled with it. Surely, a man of his age and standing had little to lose when partaking in the likes of alternative entertainment. Besides, no one could deny that those in the theater district knew how to hold the most fashionable and entertaining parties. Really, where else could a man go, have a few drinks, a load of laughs and hang around in a purple and orange waistcoat and not stand out? |
