The 'fine young man' seemed to be rather fond of pretty brunettes. With the two of them complimenting him, it was really surprising that he managed to get any words out at all. With a great deal of stammering, he described the teas he had pulled from the shelves, using the canister lids to waft the scents toward their faces. Ari quickly picked out two teas with strongly floral scents - Drake liked flowers, after all - and asked for them to be packaged.
"Did you know that Drake wants to open a flower shop someday?" she asked Cressida while her order was being put together. "He mentioned once or twice that that's what he wants to do when he retires." Fighters had to retire early; their jobs were not kind to their bodies, after all. The only surprising thing was the fact that it was flowers, and also perhaps the fact that Drake could plan ahead. Ari couldn't even think of retirement. It seemed too nebulous and far away. "He always brings the best bouquets to the theatre, too."
