After her earlier visit to the guildhall, Ari had had just enough time to go home, change into one of her finer afternoon dresses, and pin up her hair. She realized that appearing in Altair's garden in all her usual bardic finery wouldn't faze her old friend in the least, but he hadn't specifically asked her to be irritating to his family today, and it was hardly any trouble to make herself what qualified as "presentable" in the Nobles Quarter. Besides, she thought rather mournfully as she set out, she should probably become accustomed to it. Something told her that Audrey would have to start trying to out-noble the nobles just to be accepted and she did not intend to be one of the things cut away in the transformation.
So, she would adjust. She was rather good at adjusting.
She entered the garden and offered a smile to Altair, making her way down the path to where the table stood in the shade and handing him a slim package wrapped in brown paper before bussing him on both cheeks. "It feels as though I haven't seen you in ages. You're looking well."
