Her heart ached a bit as The King retreated behind his devout protectors. Their ranks unflinching and sturdy in their assured guard of the most important man in Emillion. This has to be the worst kind of yearning that one could ever possibly endure. A wanting for something that would never leave their heart or soul, especially when it was always so close and so far away at the exact same time. How could she ever be asked to give up something she'd spent her entire life wanting?

While the points for restoration were good, it didn't address the issue of The King's potential safety. Even if would appease the general populace, it didn't resolve the issue of whatever threat was bringing all of this recently. It seemed unlikely that the water beast would have to do with the undead.
