“That sounds delightful,” she said truthfully. She had traveled quite a bit with Cid and learned a lot from different cities and different cultures. She wondered if Emily had been afforded the same pleasure as she had. Although the real pleasure was watching Cid soak up all the knowledge...and of course gathering information she wasn’t going to readily share with anyone.
“There is nowhere like home, although home is really under a lot of fire lately. We’ve had crazy undead attacks and a giant serpent decided to raid our beaches. I hope this doesn’t scare you back off into the wilds.
“I’ve gotten quite roughed up a few times as has Cid, but we’ll manage. We’ve taken to some bright and promising children.” It wasn’t any of Emily’s business, but it helped to foster a good look for Penny. “I’ve graduated from Scholar to Mystic with his help. I hope we can only guide these children to their own potential as well.”
