Ari was far too far gone to feel the need to explain her comment about the shoes -- which, to her, in her current state, seemed perfectly clear and adequately explained -- so she simply answered, "Yes, I have," before deciding not to give the shoes further thought.
Fortunately, they were a scant few blocks from the Tipsy Sheep; the shoes would not need to support Aspel in bearing her weight for very long.
At the next statement, and the rather fanciful pet name, she couldn't help giggling. It was part of the act, really, wasn't it? But there was no one around... Becoming one with the role, or some such, a subject upon which the most pretentious bards expounded at great length.
Seraph indeed.
"I think... I am..." she trailed off, nuzzling again at Aspel's neck, then nibbling the same spot experimentally. "Quite," she finally finished, dragging her thoughts back to the question she had begun to answer nearly two minutes prior. "But," she felt the need to expand, "not drunk enough to forget where we left off." It was worth a try, wasn't it? Wine appeared to have made her wildly optimistic. "I do not think I could handle stairs," she admitted, "but a zipper, I can manage."
