FAMFRIT vs. Party Five: Mag/Kiernan/Ophion
Seeing the monster engulfed in flames brought a grin to Mag's face, but her expression changed when the beast swung its ewer and the storm turned more violent. The party's chance to attack was over, and the monster's retaliation was coming.
Mag had only a moment to pray Lucy had been able to retreat in time, then the water began to rise around them. "Run!" she screamed at the others and, taking her own advice, dashed into one of the side streets -- what was left of it. If the beast's next attack was as bad news as her gut was telling her, there would be no avoiding it completely, but perhaps if she got out of its direct path--She didn't run far enough. The tsunami hit then, a wave of destruction that slammed Mag into the building right behind her. Thankfully, the wall was made of wood and she went right through, into someone's living room, barely managing not to hit her head or swallow a mouthful of water.
When the current's force dwindled, she surfaced, took a big breath of air and, noticing how tight her ribcage felt, started checking herself for injuries. She could move both arms and legs, which was a huge relief. Her clothes were torn in a few places and there was a long, somewhat deep gash on the outside of her leg causing the water around her to turn red. She hurried to cast Cure to stem the bleeding and felt her ribs gingerly with her fingers. None seemed to be broken, but they were no doubt bruised. There seemed to be no swelling around her midsection, which meant there was probably no internal bleeding, but still she felt restless. She'd need to see a healer as soon as possible.
Ambling out of the debris, Mag made her way back to the spot where they'd been fighting and called out her teammates' names. "Kiernan! Ophion!" Then, because she couldn't calm down without knowing they were all safe, "Lucy!"
Damn this fucker, she thought, looking up at the beast's shadow through the Mist. I'm going to make it swallow that ewer and pull it out through its ass.
