Aspel Cassul: When in doubt, Aspel! (weaponry) wrote in emillion,
Aspel/Merri/Drake/Ari
The sounds of more bullets being shot off rang through her helmet, and the noises of her allies - then lulling of said sounds - caused her heart to suddenly thud in her chest with panic and fear. No, no. She couldn't let them fall, she couldn't. While she couldn't see them particularly well and had no idea precisely where Merri or Ari may be - though she had an idea with the grunts and calls for spells and songs - she at least knew they were alive, they were standing and still able to fight. Though Drake... His silence was painfully telling of a possibly deadly fate.
Shoving forward, the flaming sledgehammer was swung, cleaving an arc through the damp, and darkening mist around her as it crashed into one of the elementals. Aspel was prone to taking more damage in this way, and something in the back of her mind cropped up, a low grating noise, the old desire to be called forth and battle against such heinous foe. It needed to be cut down, and all that aligned with it destroyed in old scraping and gravely tones. Faram, this was not the time for this.
Her mouth opened, jaw moving but when she realized that, that faint prickling feeling in the back of her mind and body was actually something that was going to inhibit her abilities on some level, her temper boomed forward in a manner that Aspel had long forgotten it possible of. A rush of curses played upon her silenced lips and the sledgehammer was swung around again, and Ari's scream... Her blood boiled.
With a firm stomp of one armored foot - causing her armor to clank somewhat - , and a strong brandishing of the hammer, it was a powerful stance that was taken up as Vendetta was invoked, mixing with what was the beginning formations of Vehemence. In fog like this, she might even be able to get away with letting some other Fell abilities leak into her attack patterns. The thought was instantly appealing and deeply frightening all at once and Aspel chided herself, though the gravely noise ringing in the back of her head certainly wasn't opposed at all.
Watera, another ringing of shots being fired - this time two of them causing her armor to be rended apart and the sounds of metal crunching and warping rang down whatever was left of the buildings around them - and another Watera. Her voice was lost, and any sounds of pain that might have been garnished by the hot lead slugs ripping through her arm and leg were lost, but it seemed that it wouldn't matter for long between the songs that Ari was still singing.
However, that was enough damage to retaliate, and retaliate Aspel would.
With a lunge the flaming sledgehammer walloped against one of the elementals before the gun holder, the damage the smith had taken being pushed back upon her attacker with Vendetta - which was colored dark from the boost supplied by Vehemence - combined with the enfire spell, and her heightened proficiency with the weapon now in her hands.
If the Elemental could scream, she was fairly certain it just would have, and a rushing in ensured, a gesture daring the enemies to try her again was offered in attempts to provoke them, and Faram, how she wished they would.
