Aspel/Merri/Drake/Ari
She did stop singing, briefly, as she was hit by two powerful water spells in rapid succession and knocked against a pile of rubble. She had a horrified thought that this instrument would go the way of the last, but no, she wasn't submerged, the instrument maker had assured her it would stand up to damage in battle, surely it would be fine...
But she had had enough time, while the enemies had attempted to silence her, to complete her singing; she felt her bruised and battered shoulder recovering as she clambered back to her feet, and her movements were quicker and more agile than normal. The others had seemed to speed, too, although... it was quiet, she realized. She heard Merri chanting, but Aspel's usual battle cries and taunts were gone.
Well, they were not mages. Hopefully, they would not need their voices. And she would just be cautious in offering too much healing in place of too little, as they would be unable to cry out if they were hurt....
Still, she thought she had bought them a little time, with Regen. And the shouts earlier seemed to imply these things were weak to magic. Well then...
She began the strains of Magic Song, singing in Merri's direction, to imbue him with Faith. She saw the glow forming around him, and was on the final cadence when pain exploded across her shoulder. She cried out, unable to stop her shaking hand from going up to touch the deep gouge left by the bullet. Her stomach lurched. Who had shot her? She couldn't see anything.
But she could, somehow, still play, though the fingerings were agony. Regen helped, some; the skin had already begun knitting back together, but slowly, agonizingly. To speed up the process, she began Life Song, its four chords making it the simplest of her melodies. She doubted that she could play anything more complex until the wound closed.
