[Vivian/Peony/Open - just before the fireworks display]
"Well," Peony said easily, offering a small but kind smile. "Everything is ready to begin on schedule. We were scheduled a few minutes to refresh ourselves before we begin." Even with the help of the Machinists, it was a large magical effort that the participating mages would have to put forth, and she had no doubt that she would end the night barely standing. Looking around at the excited crowd, buzzing with anticipation, she thought it would be worth it.
"I am glad you found the opportunity to come," Peony told her. She had hoped for it after their discussion a few days ago; with all of the stressors which came with the guildmaster's job, it would hopefully be pleasant to spend half an hour unencumbered, and fireworks were good for that sort of thing. "It is a clear night, and the spectacle should be worthy. Perhaps I should not keep you from your snack?" She shrugged her cloak closer about her shoulders - the temperature was dropping now that the sun had set. "I simply wished to say hello." And if she went out of her way to do so at fairly regular intervals, she had never seen a signal that her overtures were unwanted. They were not and would never be friends, but she thought everyone could use a little warmth once in awhile.
