The main thoroughfare of the city has been blocked off and small gates line the street. Many gather early, attempting to gain one of the closer, more coveted spots along the parade route. Even before the parade begins, knights have been assigned posts in order to assure no citizen tries to cross the barrier for their own safety as much as for the safety of those who will be coming through these streets shortly. At nine a.m. precisely trumpets sound the beginning of the first day of the Founders Festival and with that, the first branch of the parade is allowed to being wondering casually down the street to allow those gathered around a grand glimpse of them. Performers from near and far has assembled, showing off some of their skills in the matter of dance, magic tricks, juggling, sword swallowing and fire eating while other groups are less colorful but just as interesting due to the people in question. Famous singers, play writes, and actors mesh in flawlessly with the shouts of adoring fans. Some are even kind enough to pause momentarily, signing autographs before quickly moving on with the flow of traffic. Music wafts through the air the entire time as gaggles of musicians carry on cheerful and popular tunes via instrumental to help set the scene of this joyous event. Entertainers are not the only ones amongst the midst of display as political figures also are here to show their rank, smile and wave at those of lesser stature and breeding. Even if the thoughts on these matters drift through their heads, not a single action or look reflects such as candy is tossed by some of the more 'playful' sorts and those more reserved simple stay in their means of transport with a smile. Representatives from each guild march in the parade as well as many of the cities common interest groups. Perhaps some of the most eye catching items are the visiting dignitaries from other continents and countries that have transported themselves here, if on business or pleasure. Due to the nature of the festival, people of that nature are few in comparison to the many city dwellers that have emerged for this grand spectacle. Regardless of birth or rank the titles appropriated to each new comer were easily recognizable, adviser to the court, arch duke and high priests were a few titles amongst the many present. Even His Majesty, King Weyland IV could be found in the midst of the parade, smiling upon his subjects and sharing what good nature and joy he could as he passed through. The event continues for several hours as the group makes it way from the outskirts of Emillion and finally ends in the Nobles district. Any nobility or visiting dignitaries will then be show to the palace district so that they can drop off their belongings before going to explore the city and its many festivities. |
