Ari/Mag/OPEN
They had been fighting for at least half an hour. They had all been together at first, cutting a line towards the cave from whence the threat originated, but as badly as they were outnumbered, it was perhaps inevitable that they had ended up split from the rest of the group. She fought now just behind Mag, whom she only barely knew, for the incomprehensible reason that Aspel had told her to, above all things, keep the other Ordalian woman safe.
Where Aspel was, Ari did not know, and worrying about her - or Drake - would get her nowhere. But Mag, whose safety she had been charged with, was here, and quite whole.
Fortunately, she also appeared to be extremely competent. Ari had simply to stay close enough to ensure no threats got through to hinder her, and sing. The amplifier was working, too, though she did not think for much longer. For now, though, it threw her sound further, raising a persistent white glow amidst the trees around them as the enemies hidden there were touched by the power of Requiem, their trapped souls cracking through their bonds until their skeletal and desiccated bodies fell, unmarked and unmoving, to the forest floor.
She had been in these woods before, just as she had been in the cave before. In the back of her mind, Ifrit grumbled, quiet for the moment, though, she was afraid, not for much longer. Soon, she may well be fighting on two fronts.
