ARRIVAL – Aspel/Ari/Drake/Rictor/Mag/Lex
The day had been one item of bad news after another. When Mag had been dispatched earlier in the day to scout out the situation and find whatever hole the undead were crawling out of, she had not imagined that things would be as serious as this. The previous day she had borrowed one of the FG's hoverbikes to do a sweep of the Outlands, but she'd found nothing remarkable that the Rangers hadn't reported already. So while the fact that groups of undead were roaming outside Emillion and preying on the inhabitants of the nearby villages and farms was cause enough for concern, she had thought the threat would be easily dispatched. On her outing with Siana, Maria and Divina a couple of hours earlier, however, things had started to look much worse.
Her hoverbike flew in front of the others, as Mag was the only one present who'd been part of the scouting party. Both Aspel and Drake had the coordinates, but there was no need to check for such things when she could lead them straight to the place where they'd first noticed the shit was dangerously close to hitting the fan. Mag hoped her passanger, an arithmetician if Mag had understood correctly, was doing well in the back. She didn't look like the type to get out much, and Mag had to wonder if she'd ever ridden a hoverbike before; if not, she hoped at least she wouldn't get motion sickness during the trip. Before the day was out, they were all guaranteed to see many more stomach-churning things; she had best not to get ahead of herself. Her skills would make her useful in the fight, if she could keep a cool head.
When they landed, some distance away from the shambling undead, Mag let Almalexia off first and made sure she felt okay before dismounting as well. At Aspel's comment, Mag couldn't help laughing. "It's been a while since we've been in deep shit together," she said to the other woman. "I think I've missed it." She took a look at her shotgun to make sure it was loaded, glanced at the undead horde and took a deep breath. She was ready.
